As a critical portion of university general education, a liberal arts education is a vital foundation for both individual flourishing and the well-being of our society, and it offers an expansive intellectual grounding in all kinds of humanistic inquiry.

The Center for Liberal Arts Education (CLAE) is established under Mt. Dawu College in 2020, as the College was transformed from previously General Education Center.  The CLAE is in charge of planning and implementation of liberal arts courses and affairs related to liberal arts education.  The liberal arts education in Mt. Dawu College integrates the mission of enriching grandiose vision and holistic development into the design of curriculum, with the ideals of thinking cross-disciplinarily and practicing locally, in order to nurture future π-type talents.  With core abilities in terms of individual, professional and social dimensions, students are expected to be individuals with moral character, creativity, self-learning, broad horizons, and employability.
